ÊLIH - In the statement made by TJA for the start of International Women's Day in Êlih, it was stated that women will continue to resist with the philosophy of "Jin, jiyan, azadî".

 

In Êlih (Batman), under the leadership of the Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA), International Women's Day was launched with the slogan "Women are organising peace with the struggle for freedom". 

 

Êlih Municipality Council Member Elif Kıvırcık said that the Middle East has once again been turned into the centre of the 3rd World War with the genocide of women, cultural genocide, denial and extermination through male-dominated capitalist nation states and the transnational capitalists who rule them. Stressing that a revolution led by women took place in North and East Syria.

 

Elif Kıvırcık added, "There is the democratic confederated system of the democratic ecological women's libertarian paradigm that has come to life in Rojava and the representations of the mentality on which it is based. The power of both the solution and the way out of the darkness in which we are being strangled by Capitalist Modernity today is undobtedly the creator of this idea, the Kurdish People's Leader Mr Öcalan. With this strength and belief, women and Kurds, who are the pioneering subjects of democratic modernity, will not surrender their fate to any nation-state once agian."

 

DEM Party Êlih MP Zeynep Oduncu also pointed out that women continue their resistance agianst massacres and said, "When we look at history, we can see the importance of the philosophy of 'Jin, jiyan azadî (Woman, life, freedom)'. We can see that this philosophy is the philosphy of women's liberation. Women are resisting all over the world. They will continue to resist."
