AMED - DBP Women's Assembly Spokeperson Berivan Bahçeci announced that they will organise workshops in 11 cities on 8 March.
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Women's Assembly Spokesperson Berivan Bahçeci held a press conference on International Women's Day at the party's information office in Rezan (Bağlar) district of Amed (Diyarbakır). Berivan Bahçeci touched on many topics ranging from massacres of women to detentions and arrests. Berivan Bahçeci said, "As DBP women, women who pay the price, we will never allow the voice of the people to be silenced. We will be their voice."
Referring to the discussions on the new process, Berivan Bahçeci stated that people in Turkey dealing with economic crises due to war policies of the AKP government. Berivan Bahçeci added, "The isolation has spread to the whole society in the person of Mr Abullah Öcalan. We cannot talk about a process without ensuring the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. We, as women, will resist to ensure his physical freedom, and we will not avoid paying the price for him. When the physical freedom of the Kurdish People's Leader is ensured, an honourable peace will be realised."
Berivan Bahçeci also reacted to the trustee appointments and said that the AKP does not want the Kurdish people to govern themselves. Berivan Bahçeci emphasised that they will be in the squares with the slogan "We revolt against the massacre of women, we are building freedom".
Berivan Bahçeci continued as follows: "We will raise our voices in the squares so that women do not die and live free. As DBP Women's Assembly, we will take to the streets in 11 cities. We will hold workshops in Erzirom (Erzurum), Mûş (Muş), Sêrt (Siirt), Şirnex (Şırnak), Dîlok (Antep), Meletî (Malatya), Semsûr (Adıyaman), Mereş (Maraş), Çewlîg (Bingöl), Bedlîs (Bitlis) and Istanbul and ensure our organisation. We invite all women who say 'I will fight against these injustices' to raise their voices with their colours. On International Women's Day, we will be the voice of Pakhshan Azizi, Warishah Mouradi, Shreife Mohammadi in every field."
