TTB: Diagnosis of coronavirus in healthcare workers is a work accident

ANKARA - Stating that coronavirus is transmitted to healthcare workers due to insufficient protective equipment, TTB made a statement and said: "The diagnosis of coronavirus in healthcare workers is a work accident or occupational disease."

The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) Central Council made a new statement regarding health professionals. In the statement that said the incidents occurring in connection with coronavirus should be reported as “work accidents” among healthcare professionals, it was said that “It is very important to make these notifications in order to determine the cases of occupational accidents and occupational diseases caused by COVID-19 in the health system and to determine the additional measures to be taken”.
 
In the statement, it was also noted that physicians and healthcare providers provide healthcare services under increasingly difficult conditions, and new healthcare workers are diagnosed with Kovid-19 every day.
