NEWS CENTER - A group of artists led by Argentine artist Federico Racca is launching a campaign called "A place for Ocalan". Renowned activists, academics and community leaders from around the world will support the campaign by sharing videos.
The Instagram campaign launched by a group of artists under the leadership of Argentine artist Federico Racca constitutes the first stage of the freedom march initiated within the framework of the team’s initiative.
Presenting the campaign, the artists wrote: "In our struggle for the freedom of the Kurdish people and Abdullah Öcalan, an artistic action is beginning on social media called A Place for Öcalan. It consists of short videos of just a few seconds, giving Abdullah a space in the place we would like to share with him."
A Place for Öcalan joins the struggle for his freedom that has been sustained by different movements and initiatives (such as the letter signed by 69 Nobel Prize laureates demanding Öcalan’s freedom in 2024).
The artists ask everyone to make your own video and share it across all social media platforms.
Video instructions
- Video of no more than 10 seconds
- Vertical orientation
- With an empty chair beside you
- In silence or with some music that we would also like to share with APO
Include in each video

The action will be launched on Instagram on Friday, September 12 (today) at 11:00 am Argentina time, 4:00 pm Brussels time, and 5:00 pm Amed (Diyarbakır) time.
