ISTANBUL - HDK commemorated those who lost their lives in the massacre of the Assyrian people in 1915 and stated that confrontation is vital for social peace. 
 
People's Democratic Congress (HDK) issued a written statement on the 110th anniversary of the 1915 Assyrian Genocide which the Assyrian people commemorate as "Seyfo". The statement reads: "15 June 1915 marked the beginning of the massacres agianst the Assyrians, one of the ancient peoples of this land. We remind once again the importance of confronting the truth in the construction of peace and democratic society and we embrace the demand of the assyrian people for confrontation and share their pain."
