MÊRDÎN – JINNEWS News Director Oznur Deger was released following the first hearing of her trial.

 

Journalist Oznur Deger was imprisoned on the grounds of her virtual media posts, appeared before a judge on charges of “making propaganda for an illegal organization.”

 

Oznur Deger was released following the first hearing of her trial at the Mardin 2nd Heavy Penal Court on Thursday. The presiding judge ruled that Öznur Değer be banned from leaving the country and placed under judicial supervision, and adjourned the hearing until October 21.

 

Oznur Deger was subjected to violence during a raid on her family's home in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin on February 7 and was taken into custody. She was sent to prison on the same day on charges of “making propaganda for an illegal organization.”
