RIHA - Inviting everyone to Amara on 4 April, Abdullah Öcalan's birthday, Mehmet Öcalan said, "Let's celebrate together in a festival atmosphere."

 

In the rural neighbourhood of Amara in Xelfeti (Halfeti) district of Riha (Urfa), preparations are underway for the celebrations to be held on the 76th birthday of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. People's Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Youth Assembly will organise a march from Amed (Diyarbakır) to Amara on 1-4 April on the occasion of Öcalan's 76th birthday with the slogan "We are walking to freedom with democratic society". Various activities will be held during the march, and on 4 April, youth and women will march to Amara. The 76th birthday celebrations will once again emphasise the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. Attention will also be drawn to the "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" dated 27 February.

 

Abdullah Öcalan's brother Mehmet Öcalan invited everyone to Amara on 4 April. Mehmet Öcalan said, "We invite everyone to the Leader's (Öcalan) house to celebrate. Let's celebrate together in a festival atmoshphere. Young people, women, everyone shold come to Amara on 4 April."

 

Pointing to the historic call, Mehmet Öcalan said, "Leader has taken an important step for a lasting peace in the Middle East. The Leader's birthday is more meaningful on this occasion. This is evident in the Newroz celebrated all over the world. The Leader's birthday is not the birthday of an ordinary person, it is the birthday of the peoples of the Middle East. Many ethnic peoples live in the Middle East, and the Leader's paradigm opens a living space for these peoples. Therefore, today is everyone's day."

 

'THE STATE SHOULD NOT BE AN OBSTACLE'

 

Noting that a new photograph of Abdullah Öcalan was shared in the 27 February call, Mehmet Öcalan said, "The peoples saw the photograph of the Leader after many years. Everyone who saw it was happy. There is a process now, if the state-power approaches correctly, the Kurds are also clear. There is an important opportunity to stop the bloodshed in the Middle East. Everyone will be relieved with a real and honourable peace."
