ANKARA - Addressing the mothers of soldiers and police officers in the Parliament, Mothers for Peace Initiative member Afife Kartal called for  "Come, lend your hand to us, let's stop this blood."

Mothers for Peace Initiative attended the meeting of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Parliamentary Women's Group. Mother for Peace Afife Kartal, who spoke on behalf of the initiative, started her speech by wishing success to the mothers participating in the Justice Watch launched for the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

'THE ISOLATION ON THE PKK LEADER MUST BE ABOLISHED’

Stating that the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan must be abolished, Kartal said: “We have not heard from Abdullah Ocalan for about three years. His lawyers and his family must be able to go and meet him, and the obstacle to this must be abolished. As long as this isolation against Abdullah Ocalan continues, the isolation on our children will also continue. We will be on the streets and in the squares until the isolation is abolished. We do not accept this unlawfulness towards Abdullah Ocalan. We do not accept this unlawfulness towards our children.”

CALL FOR MOTHERS

Drawing attention to the war caused by the deadlock in the Kurdish issue, Kartal said: “I am calling out to the mothers of soldiers and police officers; Come and lend your hand to us, let's stop this bloodshed. All mothers' tears have the same color. We don't want mothers to cry. Our hearts are burning, but our friends' hearts should not be broken. We were thrown into prison, our friends should not be thrown into prison. Neither the soldiers nor the police should die. We want justice and equality. We want peace.”
