URFA - In the preliminary autopsy report prepared for 16-year-old Muharrem Aksem, who was found with impaired body integrity at the place where the police were doing target practice, no conclusion could be reached regarding the numerous objects that hit his face and chest.

16-year-old Muharrem Aksem, who worked as a shepherd in the Eyyübiye district of Urfa, was found dead on March 24 in the area where the special operation police were performing target practice. After Aksem did not come home, her family, who filed a missing person's report, found their son's body as a result of their search in the forest. Aksem's body was taken to the Urfa Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) at night. The preliminary autopsy report on the body was released last night. It was stated that the limbs of the deceased, who were found in the pasture between Micit District and Qinegûr  District, were severed and there were holes in the body, which could not be learned whether it was done by a large number of bullets or shrapnels. In the preliminary autopsy report, it was stated that it could not be determined whether the objects that hit Aksem's face and body were bullets or shrapnel.

ATK REFUSES TO RELEASE THE REPORT TO THE FAMILY

The family lawyer Hatice Akıllı Öz whom we reached regarding the autopsy report, stated that there was no definite information about the cause of death in the report. Pointing out that the report has information that Aksem has many injuries on her face and body, Öz stated that there is no information about whether the object that caused the injuries was a bullet or shrapnel. Stating that she had met with the prosecutor about the issue, Öz said that the prosecutor stated that a large amount of metal was removed from the body, but they could not give any information about whether they were bullets or not. Mentioning that the preliminary autopsy report is detailed, Öz said that they were able to look at a part of the report as a result of long efforts at 05:00 in the Urfa Courthouse, but they could not get the report.

Stating that the autopsy included the detail that Aksem's fingers were severed, Öz added that they would receive the preliminary report on Monday and share the details. Öz stated that they did not encounter any information about the time of death in the sections of the report they were able to examine in the preliminary report. Informing that the autopsy results were sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute Specialization Department for a detailed examination, Öz said, "We will do our best for an effective investigation to be conducted."
