NEWS CENTRE - Several people, including lawyers Volkan Bilice and Hebun Hakan Akkaya, were detained during house raids in several cities.
Lwyers Volkan Bilece and Hebun Hakan Akkaya, members of the Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD), were detained within the investigation launched by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Bilece was detained in Mersin and Akkaya was detained in Istanbul. It is learned that Akkaya was beaten and insulted. Akkaya was handcuffed behind his back and taken to Provincial Security Directorate. Lawyers are expected to be taken to Amed (Diyarbakır) while no information could be obtained on the details of the investigation, it was stated that there is a 24-hour restriction on lawyers visits.
HOUSE RAIDS IN ŞIRNEX AND MERSIN
Several houses were raided simultaneously in Mersin. Çiğdem Kılıç and Taner Ayten were detained in Tarsus district on the allegation of "making propaganda for a terrorist organization". The detainees were taken to Tarsus District Security Directorate.
İbrahim Beştaş, Yusuf Atay, Şoreş Tuğrul and Devrim Tuğrul were detained in house raids in Akdeniz and Toroslar districts.
Many people were detained in house raids in Yafes and Nur neighbourhoods of Cizîr (Cizre) district of Şirnex (Şırnak). It is learned that 9-month-old Zehra Aslan and Yusuf Alkan are among detained people. It is stated that the number of detentions in the city may increase.
ARREST IN CEYHAN
Nedim Taş, Ferhat Kayran, Doğan Batur and Necat Eşim, who were detained in Ceyhan district of Adana on the allegation of "making propaganda for a terrorist organization" through their online media posts, were released with a control condition. Mehmet Barac was arrested on the allegation of "making propaganda for a terrorist organization".
