ISTANBUL - Pointing out that the preparations for the rally they will organise have been completed, "We call all our people to Strasbourg to raise our demand for 'freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue'" said KON-MED Co-chair Kerem Gök.

Preparations for the march and rally to be held in Strasbourg, France on the anniversary of the 15 February International Conspiracy have been completed. In the rally to be held within the scope of the campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, democratic solution to the Kurdish issue", the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the democratic solution to the Kurdish issue will be demanded.

Kerem Gök, Co-chair of the Confederation of Kurdistan Societies in Germany (KON-MED), one of the organisers of the rally, said, "We call on our people to flood the Strasbourg march and rally on 15 February to protest against the international conspiracy and to raise our demands."

Expressing that the preparations for the rally have been completed, Gök touched upon the importance of organising the rally in Strasbourg and said, "The reason why we are holding the rally in Strasbourg is that the institutions affiliated with the international powers that carried out the conspiracy are here. We have completed our preparations for the rally. With our federations and assemblies in Germany, buses have been arranged to transport the people to the rally area in Strasbourg, and where the buses are not enough, we keep our personal vehicles ready for the people to reach the rally easily."

Stating that Kurdish and internationalist youth came together in Heilbronn, Germany on 9 February and started the march, Gök said, "The march will continue until 15 February. On 14 February, they will gather at Freiburg Golf Dietenbach Park and march through the busiest streets of the city, covering a distance of 8 kilometres. In the evening, the young people will attend the programme at the Freiburg DKTM. On 15 February, they will set off for the big meeting in Strasbourg by bus at 07.00 in the morning. We can say that the march of the young people has created a very positive atmosphere in Germany."

'THE GOAL OF THE CONSPIRACY WAS FRUSTRATED'

Noting that left-wing socialist structures including different peoples as well as Kurds took part in the rally activities, Gök said, "We are conducting our activities in a way to organise the diplomacy of the peoples on the axis of Leader Apo's paradigm. We see the freedom of the peoples in the alliance of the peoples. For us, the meaning of this march and rally is important in both historical and contemporary terms. Because we will express our demands for the physical freedom of Leader Apo and the status of the Kurdish people. Since Leader Apo is the key to both the solution and peace, this rally has a greater importance for us."

Emphasising that the Kurdish people waged a very systematic and organised struggle against the international conspiracy, Gök added, "A century ago in 1925, Sheikh Said revolted against oppression on 15 February and the rebellion was bloodily suppressed and Sheikh Said was executed on 29 July. Leader Apo was also handed over to Turkey 26 years ago on 15 February with an international conspiracy, giving the message to the Kurdish people, 'Just as we took your freedom away from you a century ago, we will do the same again'. However, Leader Apo's resistance in Imrali and the struggle of the Kurdish people have frustrated the conspiracy. Leader Apo's ideas, the books he wrote and the paradigm he created have spread all over the world today and have given hope to all peoples who want peace and freedom. If the people had not protected Leader Apo for 26 years and had not organised themselves, the invaders would not have had to meet with the Leader today. For this reason, 15 February is the day to claim the struggle that has been waged for 26 years. Every single slogan, every single step taken at the rally will be historic and will determine the future of the Kurds."

CALL FOR STRASBOURG RALLY

As KON-MED, Gök invited everyone to the rally to be held in Strasbourg and said, "Everyone who defends peace against war, who wants to strengthen the hand of Leader Apo against the invaders should attend the Strasbourg rally. In this sense, I invite all our people to the freedom rally to be held at Boulevard de Metz and Boulevard de Lyon 67000 in Strasbourg on Sunday at 10.00 a.m. I invite everyone to greet the message that Leader Apo will send."
