ANKARA -  HDP Co-Chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, who made a statement about the developments in Idlib, called for an extraordinary meeting of the Assembly, emphasizing that the solution is dialogue and negotiation in the Middle East.

Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, Co-Chairs of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), made a written statement about the developments in Idlib. The statement said: "We urge you to take responsibility for all the forces defending peace in the face of war. We extend our condolences to the families of the soldiers lost their lives in the attack carried out on February 27."

“We know that war and conflict always mean pain and tears for the peoples, and we share with the public that we are ready to fulfill our responsibilities so that such sad events do not recur. Based on the fact that war decisions and reolutions are death and destruction, we repeat what we have previously stated as the only party in the parliamentary session that voted 'No' in the parliament and we are sad that our warnings were not taken into account.

We once again state that dialogue and negotiation are the most realistic way for the end of the war situation, which has become insurmountable in the Middle East, and for the realization of regional peace. The blackout and censorship in social media platforms made from yesterday's incident aim to hide the mistake of the decision taken. It is unacceptable that the government did not inform the parliament while people are  watching the developments in concern.

Our call as the People's Democratic Party; is the extraordinary gathering of the Assembly so that the government urgently transparently informs the public and all parties with or without a group in the Assembly. For this, we invite the Speaker of the Parliament to convene the Assembly urgently. It is still not too late to turn back from mistakes made to date. We call upon all forces that defend peace in the face of war to take responsibility. In this context, we extend our condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives once again."
