DİYARBAKIR- Reminding that language is the identity and existence of people, TJA called for the protection and improvement of the language by fighting the assimilation policies targeting Kurdish language.

The Free Women's Movement (TJA-Tevgera Jinên Azad) made a written statement regarding the World Mother Language Day. TJA called on all Kurds to embrace their language, as well as struggling against assimilation policies targeting Kurdish.

'LANGUAGE IS THE EXISTENCE OF PEOPLE'

As TJA celebrated the World Mother Language Day, they stated that language is the mirror of folks. In the statement adressing the degeneration, assimilation and the cultural genocide organized by the nation-state, it is noted, "Language is the identity and the existence of people, it is also the existence of a nation. When the language is lost, the folks who speak that language also disappears."

THE DESTINY OF KURDISH PEOPLE DEPENDS ON THEIR LANGUAGE

Statement recorded that the destiny of Kurdish people is tied with the destiny of the Kurdish language as the language highly depends on the existence of the Kurds in Turkey with a recognized identity of equal and free citizens.

STRUGGLE AGAINST ASSIMILATION AND AUTO-ASSIMILATION

Indicating the colonialism experienced by the people of the region since the past till today, statement said, "Come, let's free our language all together." Recording that in addition to the assimilation, one should also struggle against the auto-assimilation, statement raised the call of turning each house into a Kurdish school.
