Commenting on the decisions made during the PKK’s 12th Congress, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Spokesperson Saadi Ahmed Pire spoke to Channel 8 and emphasized that the party’s leader, Bafel Jalal Talabani, has repeatedly and clearly supported peace and the resolution of conflicts. 

 

Pire stated that Talabani has consistently taken a clear stance in favor of peace and resolving issues. He added that the PKK’s decision to end its armed struggle and dissolve itself is “a positive step toward preserving Kurdish-Turkish brotherhood, as it once was in the past.”
