NEWS CENTER - Peoples of North and East Syria celebrating May Day.
Peoples in North and East Syria celebratin 1 May Worker's Day with enthusiasm. The celebrations are being held in 2 central locations, Siwedike village of Derik and Mizgeft village of Tirbespiye, under the slogan "Let's Celebrate May Day Together Calling for Peace and Democratic Society". The rallies, attended by hundreds of citizens, started with a moment of silence in memory of the workers who lost their lives.
At the celebration in Siwedike, Cudi Music Group, artist Sumeya Mihemed, poet Farhad Merde, Elefterya Group, Qereçox Martyrs Dance Group, artists Tariq El Hisên, Hesen Dêrik and Waîl Haco will perform.
In Mizgeft Village, Botan Music Group, Newroz Group, Agirî Group, artist Lawîn Seîd Yûsif, Şehîd Rêwan Dance Group, Şehîd Sakîne Theatre Group, artists Mehmûd Osman, Mueyed Şiwêş, Şehîd Xebat Ensemble and İmad Silêman will perform.
In Heseke, a celebration will be held at 18.00 pm local time at 4 April Park.
MSD'S MESSAGE FOR 1 MAY
The Syrian Democratic Assembly (MSD) also made a written statement on the importance of the day. In the statement celebrating the holiday of Syrian and world labourers, it was noted that Syrian workers and labourers have suffered great pain in the long years of war, but they have nevertheless been at the forefront of the struggle and have raised hope and rebuilt life.
The statement said: "As MSD, we believe that Syria will not have a future without the rights of workers. We stand by the workers and support their struggle. We struggle to build a just country for workers."
