Amed (Diyarbakır) Newroz continues with all its enthusiasm. Hundreds of thousands of people attended the Newroz and the message sent by prisoners was read out. 

 

The message of the prisoners reads: "Greetings to the millions gathered in Amed. Greetings to our people who do not kneel against Dehak, who do not bow to the oppressors, who do not tolerate injustice. Greetings to the will and power that makes us the people of Newroz. Greetings to Leader Apo's resistance, stance and the path he opened. We celebrate Newroz, the strongest symbol of our resistance and hope. Newroza we pîroz be (Happy Newroz).

 

We are grateful to the light that spread from 3 matchsticks in Amed and turned into a torch in the hands of millions today. Today we welcome the new story of history in different palces but with the same feeling. We all share the same spirit of struggle, the same pain and the same hope. 

 

Dear people, 

 

We wholeheartedly support Leader Apo's historic call for a solution and democratic society on 27 February. This call is a milestone in the freedom struggle of our people and we, together with our people, will continue to defend this will and courage for peace with determination. 

 

In 2013 Newroz, Leader Apo said in this are; 'Those who cannot read the spirit of the time will go to the dustbin of history. Those who resist the flow of water will be dragged into the abyss'. Today, if the spirit of the times calls for peace and a solution, it means that the Kurdish people are ready for this. In a process where more security policies and war-based plans are being made in global politics, it is Leader Apo, whose imprisonment and isolation in the rocks of İmralı, which is the pioneer of this great historical burden with the responsibility of the will that puts forward the strongest idea of peace and takes practical steps towards it. 

 

DECLARATION OF SOLUTION AND WILL 

 

The call for peace and democratic society opens the doors to the spring of peoples in this land, in Kurdistan, Mesopotamia, Anatolia, Aegean, Marmara, Mediterranean, Rojava, Hewler, Rojhilat, in every land where the heart of the Kurdish people beats. This call is the re-sprouting of silenced languages, shackled dreams and buried hopes. This is the time of the oppressed, of the peoples. This is the time of the Kurds the most. We believe that in order for this call to be answered, our people must also strengthen their resolute stance. The urgent improvement of the conditions in which our Leader is living and the lifting of the isolation is a necessity, the most natural necessity in the flow of life. Just as it is necessary to give water to a tree that has taken root in the soil and to provide suitable conditions for it to grow, the legal and political basis of this process is the same reality. One cannot move forward by creating uncertainty, spreading the process over time, trying to intimidate through pressure, and intimidatin with trustees and detentions. These are situations that are constantly tried but always fail. This must be abandoned and the channels of democratic politics must be opened. Today is the day to protect social values and leaders. Today is the day to increase the struggle and to march towards a permanent solution with new ways and methods. Amed Newroz is a declaration of will for solution and peace. As free political prisoners, we salute this will. The one whose peace is great will have great gains. The state and the government must read this message correctly. With this belief, consciousness, feelings and hopes, we greet you all with respect. We wish that the 2025 Freedom Newroz will be instrumental in the physical freedom of our Leader and a year in which peace is realised..."
