SÊRT - The owner of the bullet that wounded Ahmet Göğün in prison has not been found 18 months after the incident.
Ahmet Göğün was arrested on 28 April 2023 on the allegation of "terrorist organization membetship" based on the statements of confessional confessor Ümit Akbıyık. Göğün was placed in Diyarbakır High Security Closed Prison No 1. Göğün was wounded by a bullet of unknown origin on 6 August 2023 while sitting in the ventilation of the ward. Göğün, who was wounded in his kidney, was first transferred to the hospital on campus and then to Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital. Gögün was taken back to prison after his treatment at the hospital and his statement was taken only at Huzur Police Station.
Gögün was released on 5 October 2023. While the statement was taken again 6 months after the release, it was not determined by whom or by whom the bullet was fired despite the time elapsed.
Referring to the statement he gave after his release, Göğün said, "They processed our complaint here. We saw that the statement we gave in prison was not processed. Despite the time that has passed, there has been no return. The friends there have no security."
Pointing out that the bullet luckily did not hit his head, Göğün said, "If I had been standing, if the bullet had not lost its speed, I could have lost my life. Although we handed in the core, there was no result. Imagine a high security prison. However, bullets can enter inside. What kind of a prison is this? Human life should not be so cheap. There were bullets in the prison before, but no one was hit."
