İSTANBUL - The indictment prepared against our reporter Mehmet Aslan for his activities as a journalist was accepted by İstanbul 24th High Criminal Court.

 

The investigation against our reporter Mehmet Aslan who is behind bars for his journalistic activities since January 9, 2021 is completed. The indictment prepared with by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office which accuses our reporter of 'being a member of a terrorist organization' and 'reporting provocative news' was presented to Antalya 2nd High Criminal Court. The court, on the other hand, gave a decision of non-jurisdiction, stating that the place of the crime in question was Istanbul. The indictment sent to İstanbul 24th High Criminal Court was accepted by the court board.

 

Aslan was accused of the news he made and his meetings with sources. 

 

First hearing of Aslan will be held on May 26, in İstanbul 24th High Criminal Court.
