NEWS CENTER - Google ADS rejected the Kurdish advertisement application of Sidar Jîr's book "Şerm (Shame)" on the grounds that it "violated the advertising policy" and fell into the "unsupported language" category. 

 

Author Rêzan Tovjîn applied to the online advertising service Google ADS to promote and advertise his book, Şerm (shame), by his friend, author Sidar Jîr, which he sponsors, in Kurdish. In response to the application, Google ADS reported that the book violated its advertising policy. In the response, which stated that Kurdish is in the "unsupported language" category, Tovjîn's advertisement application was rejected.

 

Stating that he paid a fee to Google for the advertisement of his book, Tovjîn said, "I also prepared the photo of the book and the link of the publisher for the advertisement preparations. On the other hand, Google ADS rejected the application due to the fact that the ad is in Kurdish, saying "the advertisement cannot be published due to a policy violation".

 

'I WILL APPLY TO GOOGLE HEADQUARTERS'

 

Again in 2007, the author Helim  Yusiv had applied for Facebook advertised a book and said that he was refused again, said: "Then I realized that 'Facebook Turkey' or the Turkish workers are the people in charge and they don't accept Kurdish ads. I applied to Facebook to promote Kurdish. My application has been accepted.  We worked in an organized manner with many of my friends through Facebook's Kurdish translation service. I know that Google Turkey has rejected our ad. I will apply to the Headquarters to publish the ad in Kurdish.
