Dismissed Co-Chair Demir taken into custody

BATMAN - Co-mayor of Batman Municipality, Mehmet Demir, who was unlawfully removed from the office in late March, has been taken into custody on Tuesday.
 
Demir was arrested by the police following his visit to the provincial branch of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).
 
According to reports, Demir faces an arrest warrant in the scope of the operation launched against the civil society organization Democratic Society Congress (DTK) recently.
