14 July resistance fighters commemorated in many cities

NEWS CENTER - Those who lost their lives in the 14 July Great Death Fast were commemorated in many cities. 
 
Commemoration events were held in many cities for the 43rd anniversary of the "Great Death Fast", which was initiated on 14 July 1982 by Kurdistan Workers Party’s (PKK) leading cadres Kemal Pir, Hayri Durmuş, Akif Yılmaz and Ali Çiçek against the torture and inhumane practices in Diyarbakır Prison No. 5. 
 
The events organised by the Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA), branches of the Association for Assistance and Solidarity with Those Who Lost Their Relatives (YAKAYDER), branches of the 78'ers Initiative, district organisations of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party, and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) started with a moment of silence. 
 
In Izmir, Riha (Urfa), Mersin, Adana, Colemêrg (Hakkari), where cinevision shows and speeches were made, slogans such as "Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo)", "Bijî berxwedana zindanan (Long live resistance of dungeons)" were frequently chanted.
 
While commemorating those who lost their lives in the events, it was emphasised that their resistance would continue.
