AMED — Easter was celebrated at the historic St. Giragos Armenian Church in the Sûr (Sur) district of Amed (Diyarbakır). 

 

The service began with the ringing of the church bell. Following the blessing of the church, prayers were offered, passages from the Bible were read, and hymns were sung. After the service, members of the congregation lit candles to mark the occasion. 

 

The celebtration was attended by many Armenian citizens as well as representatives of various political parties.
