People of different ethnic identities such as Kurds, Baluchis, Arabs and Turkmens in Iran have been demanding to learn their mother tongue for years. However, this demand has not been accepted and on the contrary, in many parts of Iran and Rojhilat, especially volunteer Kurdish language teachers face intense pressure and threats. The Iranian regime has so far sentenced dozens of Kurdish teachers to imprisonment.
