Take steps for Call of Öcalan says Mehmet Kamac

	AMED - Speaking on behalf of the Kurdistan Alliance at the Amed Newroz, Mehmet Kamaç called on the government to "take steps for the historic call of Mr Öcalan".

	 

	Newroz celebration is being held in Newroz Park in Rezan (Bağlar) district of Amed (Diyarbakır) with the slogans "Rêbertiya Azad Civaka Demokratîk (Free Leader, Democratic Society)" and "Democratic Society for Freedom". Hundreds of thousands of people attended the celebration and the enthusiasm increased with each passing minute and the speeches started.

	 

	Mehmet Kamac from the Kurdistan Alliance stated that Kaveh the Blacksmith fought for freedom against the tyrant Dehak. Kamac pointed out that the competition between the oppressors and those who struggle for justice has been going on for many years. Kamac said, "Kurds today are fighting for freedom against oppressors in four parts of Kurdistan. The Newroz fire is getting louder every day. We have come to 2025, this Newroz will be the Newroz of freedom for Kurds."

	 

	Stressing the unity among Kurds, "We are one. For thousands of years, the ban on our language and identity continues. However, as you can see in the field of resistance today, Kurds will never, ever give up their demands," he said. 

	 

	Pointing out that Abdullah Öcalan made a centuries-old call on 27 February, Kamac stressed: "In this call, Mr Öcalan talked about the construction of peace. Let us not leave this centuries-old historical message on the ground. This call is the hope for peace and equality. Take steps against Mr Öcalan's call as soon as possible. Let everyone live free with their language and culture."
