Under the leadership of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party, meetings were held in many centres today. In the public meetings held in Wan (Van), Colemêrg (Hakkari), Agirî (Ağrı), Erzirom (Erzurum), Riha (Urfa), Şirnex (Şırnak), Merdîn (Mardin), Adana, Mersin, Semsûr (Adıyaman), Sêrt (Siirt), Amed (Diyarbakır) the contribution of Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom to the solution of the war and conflict problem in the Middle East was emphasised and the massacres of Alawites by the HTS in Syria were condemned.   'ÖCALAN SHOWS THE WAY FOR A SOLUTION'   Speaking at the public meeting in Merdîn, DBP Co-chair Keskin Bayındır said that Abdullah Öcalan's call is a perspective that offers a solution not only for the Kurdish people but for all peoples who want freedom, peace and equality. Bayındır said, "It puts responsibility on everyone. Mr Öcalan is trying to solve the problem on political and legal grounds by removing it from death, conflict and war. Thousands of Syrian Alawites are being massacred by the government. When we look back from Palestine to our geography, killing people has become so cheap that everywhere has turned into a bloodbath. Mr Öcalan wants to put an end to all this. It shows the way for the solution of all these events."   "We must explain this call to the society, gather and organise our people around this call," said Bayındır and added: "This call is the call of the century. This call is based on peace, freedom and equality. It is an important call for humanity and the Kurdish people. We should not miss this opportunity. We should do whatever we can to explain this call, and we should unite those who keep themselves away around this call. Our language will be the language of peace, we will talk about peace wherever we go."   Bayındır stated that Abdullah Öcalan must first be free in order to fulfil the requirements of his call and said, "We have thousands of imprisoned comrades. Legal steps must be taken and legal preparations must be made for their release. The government must do its part legally. Mr Öcalan also points to the Parliament in this regard. Until today, the Parliament has not done its part. There are things to be done after this time. As of 27 February 2025, the period of talking has ended. Now it is time to take steps. The parliament must now take a step."
